ACCREDITATION
Candidates on the Advanced Architecture course are required to complete ARB Part 2 as part of their studies. This is part of the UK route towards professional registration as an Architect.
The Architectural Institute is the only architecture school in France who’s graduates have the necessary automatic accreditation towards professional registration in the United Kingdom, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the EEA EFTA States; Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
An agreement between the UK and the EU on mutual recognition of professional qualifications is underway, and although there is not currently a date set for this to be implemented. It is understood that ARB Part 2 may soon allow for candidates to access the automatic route in EU member states.
Note that there are some international schools of architecture who either have, or claim to have, RIBA Part 1, 2, or 3 accreditation. RIBA accreditation does not permit graduates to become registered Architects in the UK. Only exemption from the ARB parts 1, 2 and 3 permits candidates to become Architects in the UK, and therefore the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the EEA EFTA States; Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
As a result, we do not accept applications nor transfers from students from unaccredited schools. Transfer students from unaccredited schools are therefore required to enter into either the Foundation Course, or the first year of the MAA.
