End of Term 1 Visit, Vilnius 2025

The end of Term 1 visit to Vilnius offered students a concentrated encounter with the city’s layered urban history, including the Soviet-era districts of Vilnius, examining large-scale housing, infrastructure and public space shaped by centralised planning.

Students and Staff also visited the historic Old Town, where medieval, Baroque and neoclassical structures articulate a contrasting civic and cultural continuity. Through guided walks and on-site discussion, the visit foregrounded questions of ideology, memory and adaptation, situating contemporary Vilnius within its political and architectural past.
